From Data to Decisions: Leading with Insight

In an era where data powers every decision, today’s leaders must go beyond gut instinct to drive strategy, innovation, and results. This interactive two-day program designed to build your confidence in working with data—without requiring a technical background. Through hands-on sessions and practical frameworks, you’ll learn to interpret data, ask better questions, and apply insights that move your business forward. From foundational literacy to advanced visualization and implementation, you’ll walk away ready to lead with clarity, backed by real insight.

Creating a bridge between industry and academia, this research poster competition will highlight fascinating analytics work by students and researchers from all disciplines. Priority will be given to works that emphasize uniqueness in analytic applications and/or methodology applied to real world problems. AI related works with a solid methodological background are encouraged.

  • First Place: Plaque and a $1,500 electronic gift card
  • Second-Place: $1,000 electronic gift card
  • Third-Place: $500 electronic gift card

In order to be considered for the invitation to participate in the poster competition, please submit this form by August 22, 2025. There may be a possibility for consideration of abstracts submitted after the deadline in exceptional cases, but no guarantees are given.

  • Title: Title of Your Poster/Research Project
  • Authors: List of Authors’ Names and Affiliations
  • Abstract: A concise summary of the research project, ideally not exceeding 250 words

The initial list of accepted proposals will be announced by August 29, 2025. Accepted participants must submit a document (maximum of 3 pages) by September 12, 2025, for final screening, that includes:

  1. Introduction and Objectives: Clearly state the problem and the research objectives/questions
  2. Methodology: Clearly explain the research methodology and approach used
  3. Results: Highlight key findings and any significant outcomes
  4. Visuals: Include graphs, charts, outputs and or images that will be included in the poster
  5. Conclusions: Summarize the conclusions drawn from the research

Note: All of parts 1-5 must be presented in the 3-page document for consideration.

In this session, we will introduce the Southeast Regional Drug Data Research Center (SR-DDRC), focusing on its role as a centralized repository for opioid and drug data across 8 states in our member region: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee. In addition, we have expanded public data for 9 states across the southern US: Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas.

Discover the SR-DDRC’s unique data and information resources, serving to advance its mission to consolidate information and act as a central hub for data analysis and knowledge dissemination for the southern region. Learn about the SR-DDRC’s datasets and data frameworks, and our approach to securing, integrating, and analyzing data to support evidence-based decision-making. Finally, hear about future steps for the SR-DDRC, including our website and upcoming applications.
